How it started

One Sunday morning, I was walking with my mom in Pioneer Square. I wondered what it was like to be a homeless person my age and gender. Getting a period for the first time is scary and confusing, and to have to deal with that without a home? I couldn’t even begin to imagine the stress a period would bring. This is how Feminaid started. At Feminaid, we want to help as many homeless youth who menstruate as possible, to hopefully alleviate fear and embarrassment from being unprepared and unable to afford the feminine care available to most. We want to raise awareness and educate about homelessness and menstruation in Seattle. Menstruation is healthy. But homelessness is not. Help us help our peers in need.
